Rap icon Kanye West is doing more than music. This weekend, he went to Twitter to reveal how he’d be changing life as we know it.

YZY x Shelters

On Sunday, Kanye tweeted a picture of some in-progress housing structures. Some speculate they’re shelters for the homeless, but exact details are unknown.

High-Key Details

The Grammy-winning rapper wants to make America Ye again. The hip-hop superstar has come forward to announce he’s making a last-minute run for the presidency. On the Fourth of July, Mr. West went to his social media channels to break the massive news. Kanye didn’t announce which party he would go with but said he’s going for the presidency in 2020.

“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States ??! #2020VISION” -Kanye West’s Twitter

Wait, There’s More

In fall 2019, Kanye also hinted at plans to go for the head of state job. However, Ye previously said he had the 2024 presidency job on his mind.

This is not the first time West has talked about running for the biggest job in the country, but now he seems determined, based on his word choice. The Grammy winner was open about his ambitions as recently as this past November, when he said “When I run for president in 2024, we would’ve created so many jobs that I’m not going to run, I’m going to walk” during an event this past November. (Forbes)

Before You Go

Prior to 2019, Kanye had people thinking he would run for president in 2016. At the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, Yeezy broke the huge news of wanting to become the head of state.

Now, back to politics for a sec. It’s not completely crazy that Kanye is announcing this bid for the White House — he’s publicly toyed with the idea several times in the past … perhaps most notably at the 2015 MTV VMAs. Hell, folks thought he’d run in 2016. Of course, since then … Kanye has dipped his toe in and out of politics and political talk to much criticism — and in some cases, to praise. Just depends on who you talked to. And yes, the guy’s voiced his support for President Trump many times over since 2016. (TMZ)
