Chicago rapper Lil Durk isn’t slowing down his music-making. The hip-hop entertainer has announced plans to release his new Just Cause Y’All Waited 2 album in the coming days.

Lil Durk Reveals New Album Drops Next Week

Barring any setbacks, Durk’s latest solo offering will drop on May 8. The project is a much-needed follow-up to his 2018 underground project.

With his auto-tuned melodies and deep empathy, Lil Durk‘s music encapsulates the tragedies and triumphs of street life. Eager to whet the appetites of fans clamoring for more Durk music, the rapper announces Just Cause Y’all Waited 2, his upcoming album. The new album is the sequel to a well-received 2018 mixtape, Just Cause Y’all Waited, which arrived during a label transition and was the original landing spot for “Home Body,” which earned a Gold certification from the RIAA. Just Cause Y’all Waited 2 arrives on May 8th via Only The Family/Alamo Records.

Wait, There’s More

Durk didn’t stop there. The Chi-town rap star has also come through this week with his new “Viral Moment” music video premiere.

Taking shots at clout chasers and giving game to inexperienced youngsters, Durk shares “Viral Moment,” a new video from the upcoming project. Linking up with Only The Family in-house producer TouchOfTrent, who layers dramatic piano with wailing saxophone and knocking 808s, Durk digs deep into his past, illustrating how he’s remained true to the streets even as his star rose. In the video, directed by Jerry Production, Durk mobs in his Atlanta mansion with a gaggle of famous friends, including Lil Baby and Only The Family signees like Booka600, Memo600, andDoodie Lo. His third hard-hitting single in the past few weeks, “Viral Moment” follows “All Love,” another TouchOfTrent production from the upcoming album, which earned over 6 million streams in less than one month.
