Some artists do not care what we think of them. They do not bother if we listen to their music, or if we mute them, they will still continue doing what they feel is right. Those kinds of people are the moral conscience of humanity. They are the artists breaking through the facade and “designed” truths into the dirty and harsh reality throwing it back at us in disgust to make us feel something. One of those few is a real true to the genre underground hip-hop artist Phil Johnson, whose recent dope drop  “Blue Code Of Silence” FT Phil (Tre) 111 is a freezing shower aimed to snap society out of their naive indifference and open our eyes. To do so, the young artist is straight-forward to the point of cynicism, unapologetic to the point of intentional sorrow as if he plays with an open wound to make it hurt more.

“Blue Code Of Silence” FT Phil (Tre) 111 is the catharsis we have to face to be able to heal. Everything about the song is emotional and heartbreaking, making it feel like the track is raw in the best way possible. Undoubtedly, the emotion is raw, yet Phil’s hard work and dedication cannot be dismissed. The artist put his heart in the track and sings it out, but his professionalism deserves recognition as every single detail of the song, every musical or production choice, is crafted to the point of perfection.  “Blue Code Of Silence” FT Phil (Tre) 111 is filled with the vibe of maturity. The song is a conscious protest that does not come from the anarchistic intentions or maximalist youth but has the roots in acknowledging justice’s importance. Phill’s emotions pour out of the track as a hurricane erasing the idea we have of ourselves. Humanity needs healing from “blue codes of silence,” from indifference, from discrimination, from police brutality, and Phill is not afraid to voice it.
