Music moguls Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine are giving hip-hop heads a reason to put in some serious gaming this week. The hip-hop pair make surprise cameos in the latest Grand Theft Auto Online update called Cayo Perico Heist.

Dr Dre Makes GTA Online Cameo

New footage has surfaced online showing both the Doc and his Beats By Dre co-founder/partner Jimmy in a cutscene. Rockstar Games’ latest update to its franchise title shows off both Dre and Iovine in an epic storyline moment.

One of the key figures behind the creation West Coast G-funk, Dr. Dre may not be an actual doctor, but he is a legend. In order to run into West Coast rap royalty in GTA Online, you’ll need to download the Cayo Perico Heist update, then get started on the heist by doing some setup missions. As mentioned in our GTA Online patch notes, you’ll get to Cayo Perico by way of a plane full of famous DJs set to perform on the heavily guarded island. That’s where Dr. Dre comes in – he’ll arrive separately from you after your cohort announces “ah, looks like the big guns are here.” (Games Radar)

DJ Pooh Makes An Epic GTA Online Appearance Too

To make things even more insane, Friday actor and legendary producer DJ Pooh makes a huge in-game cameo.

They’re not the only one to have noticed his arrival in the series, either, as DJ Poohalso posted a photo – as he’s been added to the game as well. If you haven’t yet seen Dr. Dre appear during the heist, the footage is quite cool to see as well. A group of “big guns” arrive and as you might expect, from the group flying out of their SUV comes the rapper along with DJ Pooh. (Dexerto)
