Utah Jazz stars Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert are still at odds. The relationship between the two NBA All-Stars and teammates is reportedly “not salvageable” after Gobert wasn’t cautious about the threat of coronavirus, himself testing positive days later. Mitchell soon tested positive after that.
Big Facts
Their relationship is reportedly totaled beyond fixing. The situation has arrived following the sequence of events that led to both of them having COVID-19.
Shams Charania, Sam Amick and Tony Jones of The Athletic reported Friday the Jazz have started the process of trying to fix the lingering issues between their star players with minimal success. “It doesn’t appear salvageable,” a source told The Athletic. “In the two travel days leading into Utah’s game at Oklahoma City, Gobert and Mitchell shared space on a regular basis, sitting near each other on buses and the team plane, according to sources. Still, there’s no way to know if Gobert gave it to Mitchell or if it was the other way around or some other factor. That’s something the team tried to make clear to Mitchell, according to sources.” (Bleacher Report)
High-Key Details

Wait, There’s More
Recently, Gobert issued a public apology for his actions several days after the microphone incident. Rudy went online to pour his heart out on social media.
“I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of concern and support over the last 24 hours. I have gone through so many emotions since learning of my diagnosis…mostly fear, anxiety, and embarrassment. The first and most important thing is I would like to publicly apologize to the people that I may have endangered. At the time, I had no idea I was even infected. I was careless and make no excuse. I hope my story serves as a warning and causes everyone to take this seriously. I will do whatever I can to support using my experience as way to educate others and prevent the spread of this virus. I am under great care and will fully recover. Thank you again for all your support. I encourage everyone to take all of the steps to stay safe and healthy. Love.” – Rudy Gobert Instagram
