Silk Sonic Comes To Fortnite
Bruno Mars and Anderson.Paak will be gliding and skating their way into the virtual world of Fortnite.
The hit-making duo will be featured as a “skin” in Fortnite, allowing players to appear as either Mars or Pak characters in the game. The duo’s skin will include their signature 70s-inspired outfits, a new radio station of soul and R&B classics hosted by funk pioneer Bootsy Collins, and a player tournament.
The skins and accessories will be available at Fortnite’s Item Shop starting February 10, 2022, at 7 p.m. ET. For those who can’t wait to play the tournament, the Silk Sonic Cup is happening on Monday, February 7, when players will get a chance to unlock the Mars and Paak outfits early.
The music and entertainment world is shifting gears to include more virtual and futuristic ways of engaging with audiences. Both Travis Scott and Ariana Grande have already had concerts within Fortnite. A Lebron James skin for Fortnite was released earlier this year and his entertainment company invested in the Fortnite Studio. Recently, New York rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie declared that he’ll only accept payments in “Ethereum,” a form of cryptocurrency.
“Only accepting ethereum for shows now for those who been trying to book me,” Boogie said on Twitter.
