Cordae is a name no introduction, especially to the current generation of hip hop heads.

A new age rapper that has been able to turn heads and opinions, even having rappers like J Cole and Eminem respect his artistic ideas, Cordae has now enlisted the talented and legacy of rapper Lil Wayne on new song, ‘Saturday Mornings’.

The song comes out with a music video later on Wednesday. If the teaser is an indication, the video seems to be themed around a young listener’s journey as fan to artist within the hip hop game. The production, too, is a sample centred one, with soul vocal sample chops forming the crux of the track in an almost Kanye-esque manner.

This isn’t the first time the two rappers have joined forces though. The duo were earlier seen in collaboration on the track ‘Sinister’, which came out in 2021 featuring the rappers rocking gold braids and a captivating flow. While that track was an exquisite flow display, this track seems to be one where the two have come to explore a deeper theme that hits home for many, and will be a part of Cordae’s upcoming album, The Crossroads.

With a bunch of Lyrical Lemonade collaborations, Eminem endorsements and so much more, Cordae is truly at an interesting crossroads in his career. What remains to be seen is the direction he’ll steer the new project in. Stay tuned.
