During a recent interview with friend and fellow rapper, Lil Yachty, Drake hinted at a possible retirement. If the Toronto rapper retires, it would be from an impressive two-decade career filled with noteworthy recognition in television and music.

Rap superstar Drake hinted he’s facing the reality of his future by possibly considering retirement in a new interview.

A “Graceful Exit”

Drake, who also announced his 2023 tour, was interviewed on a beach by Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty on A Moody Conversation, from Futuremood Studios, named after Yachty’s sunglasses brand. In the video, Drizzy said retirement has been on his mind.

“I feel like I’m kind of introducing the concept in my mind of a graceful exit,” Drake said.

The full interview is expected to be released Friday, Feb. 24 on Lil Yachty’s social media accounts.

Drake’s recent accomplishments include becoming the first artist to surpass 75 billion streams on Spotify and releasing his joint album with Atlanta rapper 21 Savage, Her Loss. The album release party featured the two artists gifting strippers Chanel bags.

In his career, the “One Dance” rapper also surpassed legendary British band The Beatles, by becoming the first artist in history to earn 100 Top 20 hits on the Billboard charts. In addition, Drizzy scored the most Top 5 hits in Billboard Hot 100 history with 30.

In August 2022, the rap superstar celebrated his milestone on Instagram.

Drake has faced comparisons to rap legend Jay-Z in his career for tying him in No.1 albums on Billboard’s Hip-Hop/ R&B Charts, with 14.

Jay-Z Speaks On Retirement

In July 2022, rap legend Jay-Z was interviewed by comedian Kevin Hart on his show, Hart to Heart and was asked about retirement in the future.

“ I don’t know what happens next,” Jay-Z said.  I’m not actively making music or making albums or plans to make an album, but I never want to say I’m retired and who am I to shut it off.”
