West Coast rapper Doja Cat is providing some more clarity and details into her recent bout with the COVID-19 infection. The hip-hop star went to her social media pages this week to dish on how she dealt with coronavirus.
Doja Cat’s COVID-19 Experience
On Wednesday, Doja hit up her Twitter page for a non-stop interaction with concerned followers. She dished on everything from the symptoms she experienced with COVID-19 and said the virus had left her body.
“not anymore,” Doja tweeted when asked if she still had COVID-19. “I couldn’t taste bacon and my legs hurt. [Respiratory issues?] No. [Fever?] For 2 days yea … [Scared of it now?] Never was. Thats why I got it in the first place.” -Doja Cat’s Twitter
High-Key Details
Heading into last weekend, Doja broke massive news to fans during an interview. While she couldn’t exactly pinpoint what might have caused her coronavirus infection, Cat said it could have happened from a food delivery.
“I got COVID,” she said during an appearance on Capital XTRA yesterday (July 24). “Honestly, I don’t know how this happens but I guess I ordered something off of Postmates and I don’t know how I got it but I got it.” The musician, whose real name is Amala Zandile Dlamini, said she was “OK now”, but didn’t confirm when she thought she had the virus. “It was a four-day symptom freak out but I’m fine now,” she added. Wait, There’s More
Back in March 2020, Doja made headlines after clowning the global pandemic. DC even joked about what she would do if the virus infected her.
Doja Cat’s announcement comes after she spoke out on Instagram Live about the pandemic in March, claiming that she wasn’t “scared” of COVID-19 and that the virus was only a “flu.” “I’m gonna get corona and then I’m gonna get a Corona, cause I don’t give a f—k about corona, bitch. It’s a flu!” she said at the time. (People)
Before You Go
Recently, Cat went to her Twitter page to speak out. Doja questioned why she recently had support from people viewing her as a Black musician and then suddenly having her African America roots taken away.
“Remember when people said I was black when I had a #1 along side 3 other black women but now the same people wanna say I’m white? Maybe I’m not the one here with “identity issues”. ? … Deleted my last tweet because someone brought up a very valid point about it. My response was that I’m standing up for myself because I know what the truth is.” -Doja Cat’s Twitter
