Lupe Fiasco has dropped a new song called ‘Shrink’ which he has termed as a “CRS” record.
If you remember, CRS stands for Child Rebel Soldier which was a super group made of Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West and Pharrell Williams in late 2000s.
In a recent interview with Stereogum, Lupe said that the idea of the group was to rap about the downfall of being famous over “ethereal ass Radiohead beats but later when he realized the group thing with the two collaborators is not going to work out, he decided to take this idea forward solo.
“I’m gonna reboot CRS in the next six months, maybe next year,” Fiasco stated. “Tyler, [The Creator] has one of the CRS records. But it’s gonna go back to the original energy, which was me rapping over Radiohead beats.”
Listen to the first taste of that, ‘Shrink’ below.
