Rihanna Receives PETA's Compassion In Fashion Award For FENTY Clothing Line
Grammy-winning singer Rihanna has another award to add to her trophy case. The popular crooner has received a Compassion in Fashion Award from PETA.
Big Facts
On Thursday, PETA broke the news to the world. The non-profit organization credited RiRi’s FENTY line for going with faux-leather items including skirts and shirts as a big contributing factor to the award.
“Rihanna should take a bow for this stunning cruelty-free collection,” says PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange. “With her new vegan collection, Rihanna shows how easy it is to create a killer look that no animal had to die for. “PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to wear”—opposes speciesism, which is a human-supremacist worldview. Rihanna joins a long of list of stars who’ve used vegan materials in their fashion collections, including Serena Williams, Rooney Mara, RZA, and Jessica Simpson.
