Young Dolph Murder Suspects Now Charged

U.S Marshals announced the arrest of Justin Johnson, 23, on Tuesday after offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

After Johnson’s arrest was released, District Attorney General Amy Weirich’s office announced the indictment of the second suspect, Cornelius Smith.

Johnson and Smith were both indicted on first-degree murder and counts of attempted first-degree murder, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, employment of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony, and theft of property over $10,000.

The U.S. Marshals also said that Johnson has an outstanding warrant for violation of federal supervised release out of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee.

Shundale Barnett of Indiana was also arrested for aiding the suspects in hiding from law enforcement.  Barnett has been charged with accessory to first-degree murder, the U.S. Marshals said Wednesday.

Dolph Killers In Custody

We recently reported on Johnson and Smith being taken into custody yesterday.

Both of the Young Dolph’s suspected killers are now in custody.  The final suspect on the LAM last week was apprehended after law enforcement issued an APB for his capture and a $15,000 reward for tips on his whereabouts.

Dolph Set Up Theory

In the weeks leading up to the arrest, Young Dolph’s murder was being investigated by amateur internet sleuths.

A YouTube video by “Identikal” cited several suspicious pieces of evidence that could indicate that whoever shot Dolph knew when and where he would be at the time of the attack. The video cites the fact that the glass remnants that were broken presumably from gunshots were found outside the shop instead of inside where the shooting happened.  The video also highlights that one of the eye-witnesses was related to the owners of Makeda’s Cookies, casting suspicion on the witness testimony.
