Hard Work

Back in 2016, Drake talked about how much effort he put into his epic album. Drizzy also emphasized working closely with longtime friend Noah “40” Shebib on the LP.

“It’s something that I’ve been working really hard on, myself and 40… Trying to craft a lifestyle track, a sound for our city. Views From The 6 won’t be a short ting. There’s a lot of music on there. You’ll have your full share of Drake music for the summer and for the year. Forever.” (OVO Sound Radio)

Wait, There’s More

The project came months after a publicized rift took over the rap game. Drake and his longtime pal Meek Mill ignited a massive battle with multiple diss records aimed at each other.

Views also gained extensive hype leading up to the release, thanks to the Meek Mill/Drake beef, which started in July of 2015. Drake’s two diss tracks— “Charged Up” and “Back to Back”—helped build anticipation. (Genius)

Before You Go

In August 2014, Toronto rap artist announced the LP’s official title. He also gave a major shout-out to his on-again, off-again rumored girlfriend Rihanna.

“My album title is VIEWS FROM THE 6. The 6 is Toronto. Rih is a great girl who I know is about to kill this tour with Eminem. It’s all love!!” -Drake’s Twitter
