The Second Marathon Store To Open In Melrose

Nipsey Hussle’s family is still making sure the late rapper’s dreams come to fruition.

His older brother, Samiel Asghedom, aka Blacc Sam, announced that the second Marathon store will open in the Melrose arts district in Los Angeles and that it was a dream Nipsey always had.

“It’s important that his kids are able to see his plans fulfilled,” Blacc Sam told The Guardian.

The original The Marathon Store, located between Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue, is currently closed but it will still serve as a place of tribute for Nipsey’s fans. They are also transforming the surrounding community space into a place for free music lessons for youth modeled after the impactful program Hussle completed as a kid.

Though there is no official date for the new opening, it’s clear that the Hussle family has many plans for the future to make sure the marathon never stops.

The Late Rapper Foresaw The Metaverse

Nipsey Hussle’s The Marathon Clothing x Blankos collab dropped last November during the Blankos Block Party, a free Play-to-Earn party game from Mythical Games. Just prior to his death, Nipsey spoke prophetically about the power of the blockchain economy as an “equalizer” to uplift black communities.

The Marathon Collection includes two new playable Blankos characters and two accessories, designed in partnership with The Marathon Clothing. Marathon Clothing is the tech-forward fashion brand owned by the late rapper and entrepreneur Nipsey Hussle, and now run by his family.
