Detroit rapper Royce Da 5’9 has some thoughts on the drama between Tory Lanez and Meg Thee Stallion. Instead of getting caught up in the gossip behind the situation, the Motown legend spoke on the situation’s aftermath related to gun safety.
Royce 5’9 x Guns
Heading into the weekend, 5’9 addressed the craziness connected to Tory and Meg’s headline-generating drama. However, Royce put the majority of focus on how guns are perceived and the importance of safety and rights.
“Gun rights and Gun safety should be a part of curriculum in school at this point. That mystique that surrounds guns along with the way they’re portrayed on tv gives us a fascination with them by the time we’re adults (rappers) that’s toxic as a b*tch and extremely dangerous, problematic etc. Brother Torey never got taught the etiquette smh… I’m glad Meg is good… *Goes back to Justice for Breonna*” -Royce Da 5’9’s Instagram
On Friday, Stallion went to her social media pages to address her current state of mind. She acknowledged how the Internet has turned her pain into a joke and said the entire situation has ultimately changed her life forever.
“Black women are so unprotected & we hold so many things in to protect the feelings of others w/o considering our own. It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatized.” -Megan Thee Stallion’s Twitter
Wait, There’s More
Heading into Friday, Meg’s bodyguard issued a statement on his whereabouts during Sunday morning’s attack. Despite not being there, he vowed to remain at Stallion’s side moving forward.
“If you know me and you know her well enough, not only do you know I wasn’t physically present during Sunday mornings events, but you know why. If you don’t know me or her well enough, she good, I’m here now, and she’ll never step foot outside without me plus some n*ggas who don’t aim at feet present.”
Before You Go
Over the past few days, people have lit up their social media feeds with plenty of digital savagery. Jokes ranged from Tory crooning to a judge for why he allegedly popped off on Meg to what ignited his trigger finger.
