Multi-genre music producer and upcoming Nigerian artist Icebeatchillz, formerly known as Ice Beat, released his self-produced Afro-dancehall single titled “Area,” featuring international Dancehall legend, Beenie Man. This collaboration created an immensely likable project that pulses with positivity. “Area” soars on the strength of sticky melody with Afro-dancehall, r&b, and reggae elements sung by this unique combo of vocalists.
In the process, Icebeatchillz has made a great pop single through tuning in one of the globe’s most exciting and celebrated Dancehall artists. Immediately after hearing the beat, Beenie Man found himself in the studio freestyling to the song, which gave birth to “Area.”
There’s nothing completely new here, but any listener who is a fan of the genre is sure to be satisfied, at the very least, until Icebeatchillz’s next release arrives.
