Immaculate flows, flaming bars, and mainstream hits has given the industry no choice but to give My_Kayla her flowers as an artist.

Born and raised in Cleveland, OH, Micháela Penn got into hip hop at the young age of 7 penning bars and spitting poetic freestyles. She was a student of the game, one that emulated talent only seen in goats like Nicki Minaj, Nas, J.Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Andre 3000, Lauryn Hill and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. In time she’d adopt the alias My_Kayla dropping hits like “2bb,” “Toxic,” “Dennis Rodman” and lyrical masterpiece “Set Mona Off” which had My_Kayla’s expert storytelling abilities on full display as she bodied the beat with an onslaught of lyrical rhyme schemes.

With the rap game now glued to her every move, My_Kayla released her debut album, “The 20th Summer” painting tales between the fantasy and reality of her final summer home from college. The project whose album release party saw a sold-out crowd went on to gain 5-stars from LA On Lock for its cohesive composition and message of inspiration through adversity. My_Kayla’s catalog was telling of her talent, and it brought opportunities her way with major corporations and conglomerates like The Food Network, WWE, Starz, and NBA on TNT with a multi-album publishing deal for film and TV under her alternate alias, Kaya Ka$h (@kayakashmusic).

My_Kayla went on to release her latest EP, “Varsity Fresh” in March 2022 giving fans a taste of her more melodic side over up-tempo beats with catchy hooks and mainstream viral bangers. She is an artist and an intellectual with a master’s degree under her belt. She’s going to be a force in the game, that’s for certain. Follow My_Kayla online to become acquainted with hip hop’s next mainstream sensation. Submerge yourself in her EP, “Varsity Fresh” now out on all major streaming platforms, and find out why fans can’t get enough of the Cleveland, OH prodigy.
